Buttock Augmentation

Enhance the natural curvature of your buttocks with buttock augmentation. Through buttock implants or transfer of fatty tissue, buttock augmentation effectively adds fullness and shapeliness to the buttocks.

Surgical Options

Although buttock implants can effectively and permanently achieve buttock augmentation, they can be associated with complications such as infection. For this reason, fat transfers with injected fat from Liposuction, also known as the Brazilian Buttock Lift, are often preferable. In this procedure, Dr. Breitbart removes fat via Liposuction from one area of the body such as the abdomen or thighs, purifies the fat, and then injects the fat into the buttocks through a small incision. This procedure can achieve a natural feel without the associated complications of implants. Most patients prefer using their own fatty tissue to increase the volume and contour of their buttocks. An added benefit is the improvement in contour of the areas treated with Liposuction.

Procedure, Recovery, Results

Performed either under local anesthesia with intravenous sedation, or general anesthesia, buttock augmentation surgery takes one to two hours. Small incisions with even distribution of fat cells ensure that the buttocks are smooth.

Many patients choose buttock augmentation because they are not able to achieve the results that they desire through diet and exercise. Many of Dr. Breitbart's patients experience greater confidence and better fitting clothes through an improved shape with buttock augmentation.

Buttock Augmentation FAQs

How long is recovery?

Most patients recover quickly and discomfort is removed through painkillers. Patients should wear a compression garment for two weeks and can go back to work after three to five days. However, intense physical activity should be reduced and resumed only after the body has had enough time to heal, approximately two weeks.

What are the risks associated with buttock augmentation?

Like any other form of plastic surgery, buttock augmentation has its associated risks. It is possible that some of the transferred fat can resorb over time, resulting in less buttock fullness than immediately after surgery. Other possible risks include bleeding, infection, and asymmetry, which happen only in rare circumstances. Dr. Breitbart will discuss the procedure in detail with you prior to your surgery.

Can anyone have buttock augmentation?

Buttock augmentation can be performed on patients in good health with realistic expectations for outcomes.

What is the Brazilian buttock lift?

The Brazilian buttock lift involves removing fat from one area of the body through Liposuction and then injecting this tissue in the buttock region. This method is often preferable because it provides a natural appearance and has a high success rate given that your own fat is being used.
