Cheek Implants

Cheek implants are indicated in patients with flattening of the cheekbones, who desire more fullness. This procedure helps to add definition to the face, resulting in the appearance of higher, more youthful cheekbones.

Cheek Implant Procedure

At our Long Island and Manhattan facilities, cheek implants surgery can be performed under local anesthesia, with or without sedation. The procedure takes between thirty to sixty minutes to perform and may be longer if you also have chin implants or in conjunction with another cosmetic procedure such as a facelift or eyelid surgery. The cheek implants are usually inserted through incisions within the mouth A pocket is created and Dr. Breitbart then inserts the implant in the pocket and positions it appropriately. Incisions are then closed with dissolvable sutures.

Recovery from Cheek Implants

After surgery, there may be some swelling or bruising. While the duration of these side effects varies, typical recovery time is usually just a few days. Dr. Breitbart will provide you with detailed instructions for your post-operative care. These instructions will include both dietary restrictions as well as reduction of activities and exercise to give your body enough time to heal. Stitches placed in the mouth will dissolve within ten days after surgery.
